Meet the Staff
Vincent Smith, PT
Vincent Smith graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1986. He has worked in hospital and
outpatient settings with an emphasis in orthopedics. He co-founded BSPT in 1993 with Ron Barkman. Vincent and his wife Lidia have two daughters. Rachel is attending her fathers alma mater studying nursing and Taylor is studying education at UTA. Vincent enjoys playing with his grandson Aiden and watching Dallas Stars hockey!
| Ron Barkman, PT
Ron Barkman was previously a high school athletic coach and teacher. He then went back to school to become a Physical Therapist. Ron graduated from Texas Woman's University in 1986. He co-founded BSPT in 1993 with Vincent Smith. Ron is fond of Starbucks coffee, regular workouts, and spending time with his wife, Trisha, two daughters, Alix and Briana and his grandson Grayson. Ron stays current with his professional training through continuing education courses emphasizing on manual therapy and orthopedics.
| Jonathan Stoddard, PT
Jonathan Stoddard completed his undergraduate work in Exercise Science graduating Magna Cum Laude while employed as a technician at Barkman and Smith for over 5 years. He graduated from UT Southwestern in 2005 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Jonathan stays very active participating in adventure races, running, cycling, and triathlons. Jonathan's most notable athletic accomplishments include 3 Hotter than Hell 100mi finishes, Austin Longhorn Ironman 70.3 Triathlon finisher, 2nd and 3rd place Age Group finishes at the sprint triathlon distances. Jonathan and his wife, Milina, are the proud parents of boy/girl twins, Mia and Adam. Jonathan stays up to date on current research and treatments through continuing education focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation.
| Bruce Morgan, PT
Bruce Morgan received his PT degree from the University of St. Augustine in 2000. He joined the BSPT team in January of 2005. He has experience working in a variety of settings including hospital, nursing home, outpatient and industrial rehab. Bruce is fluent in Spanish and enjoys playing on the computer. When he isn't working, playing sports, or pondering the intangibles of life, you will probably find him hanging out with his wife and two kids.
| Karen O'Bryan, PTA
Karen O'Bryan graduated in 1994 from St Louis Community College. Karen moved from St. Louis to the DFW area in 2001. While in St Louis, Karen worked for a hospital-owned rehab facility for 6 years. Prior to joining Barkman and Smith in Jan 2004, Karen worked for a DFW based hospital on the rehab floor for 2 years. She enjoys bicycling, an occasional game of golf, gardening and spending time with her husband, Mike, and her grandchildren. Karen keeps Ron, Vince and Jonathan under control and in line as best she can. Karen also stays current on treatment techniques consistently exceeding required continuing education requirements.
