Introduction to Knee

Physical Therapy in Bedford and Irving for Knee

Welcome to Barkman & Smith Physical Therapy's patient resource about knee problems.

Knee Anatomy (General)The knee is a sensitive area of the body and one that can be injured doing almost any activity.  The knee is normally exposed and vulnerable and a simple twist can lead to a serious injury as well as ongoing problems and a long recovery time.  Therefore, whether your sport is rugby or racquetball, bowling or badminton, you cannot take chances with this body part.

This section of our site has everything you need to know about preventing or correcting a knee injury.  It is our goal to provide you with resources, exercises and other knee related information that will allow you to learn about how easily this sensitive area can be injured.

When you take the necessary steps in preventing an injury, you will enjoy your chosen sport more and avoid Physical Therapy and other painful and time consuming tasks that come with nursing a knee injury.

They are very professional. I went to them after knee replacement surgery. i worked with Chase and Liz who were very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. I don’t think my knee would feel as well as it does if it hadn’t been for them and their hard work with me. Christina, their receptionist, was always friendly and willing to help changing appointments if necessary. Thank you so much for all of your help! I would highly recommend Barkman and Smith Physical Therapists.

I started my therapy shortly after a total knee replacement. Today is 32 days post surgery and I am released having reached the reasonable goals set by my surgeon. I highly recommend this office for any therapy. Chtistina in thr office is very sweet and helpful setting a schedule and sending electronic reminders. Chase is a true professional. He is very knowledgable and willing to explain the goal of each exercise and gives encouragement as I work through them. I would definitely recommend Barkman & Smith for any physical therapy need.
